The Citizen Eco Drive Men’s Watch belongs to a special series of Citizen watches that depend on any light source for energy. And when we say ANY light source, that would include both solar and artificial light. Thus, in normal circumstances, the watch can run virtually non-stop, without charging or battery replacement.
The special energy storage cell in the watch can last up to 40 years. Even in extreme situations, such as when the device is totally isolated from light, a fully-charged cell can supply enough energy to keep the timepiece running accurately anywhere between 45 days to 5 years, depending on the model.
There are nearly 200 models in the Citizen Eco Drive Men’s Watch line. You can choose from 5 different straps, 4 different materials, and 5 different face colors. The possible straps are dress strap, dress bracelet, dive, sport strap, and sport bracelet. Currently, the casing materials can be made of stainless steel, titanium, two-tone, or gold tone, while the dial colors can be black, blue, champagne, white, or gray.
The prices of these watches range from the relatively inexpensive dress straps and dress bracelet straps which start at $135 to the elite dive and sport watches, which can reach up to nearly $900.
Today’s most expensive Citizen Eco Drive Men’s Watch is the Blue Angels Skyhawk A-T at $895. It is equipped with an atomic timekeeping system with radio-controlled accuracy, world time for 43 cities, GMT display, 99 minute countdown timer, 1/100 second chronograph, and a perpetual calendar, among others. It is protected by a non-reflective crystal and a blue titanium ion plating.
Just like any Citizen Eco Drive Men’s Watch, the Blue Angels Skyhawk A-T has an amazingly long energy reserve, being able to last from 180 days to even 30 months when using its Power Save feature. Thus, with this timepiece, you’ll never run out of time.
