Xavier Buyse and Mobile Advertising

With the emergence of 3G, or the 3rd generation of cell phone mobile internet there has been a significant surge in the general public using mobile devices to have a look at the internet and with that a multitude of businesses have moved in to cement their position. One business man entrepreneur being Xavier Buyse whose mobile advertising company is growing at a exponential rate as the space for mobile advertising continues to grow. With the growth of 4g rapidly approaching this industry looks set to grow even further at an astounding rate.

With the news that Google is set to buy Admob things could really get interesting in the mobile advertising space, with Google like Xavier Buyse @ ADS Media clearly having the foresight that this could develop into a massive market. The development of this space is also reflected in the maturing market for mobile touch screen devices which ADS Media’s CEO Xavier Buyse will hope continues. Touch screen is at the moment most people associate with the iPhone which has proved more popular than all others in the space with its smooth design and intuitive interface. In such a quickly developing space though there is nothing to say that this trend will carry on as other businesses see the opportunity to claim themselves a piece of the pie.

This is evident in the amount of other companies which sell mobile phones developing their own response to the iPhone. Although no one has managed to develop the ubiquitous ‘iPhone killer’ yet, with even Googles answer the G phone which runs on the open platform Android not being able to compete. One interesting question is whether an increasing amount of mobile ads could perhaps slow the development of the industry as a whole as people become wary of ever more ingenius ways advertiser ply their wares. At this stage the market is still in its early days and mobile ads are not completely intrusive, usually just consisting of a small amount of text at the top of the screen.

It would be a truism to mention that the mobile advertising market will have learnt some valuable lessons from digital advertising on the internet in regards to what people are to engage with or not. From the view point of the creatives mobile advertising creates a unique issue, being that you only have a tiny space to be able to create anything, usually not enough for an image but only a minimal amount of text writing, much like paid search results in the major search engines.

What is vital is that rivals to Admob think about how they are going to develop very carefully and watch the companies every move as now they are being bought by Google will soon be under Googles wing, the number one search engine for internet users it is very likely they are going to make the most their influence to try and out manoeuvre their competitors in every which way way they can.
